Under 10 Rookies is an introduction to hard-ball cricket with players aged 7-10 using full protective clothing and a soft plastic ball. Every player gets to bat and bowl for a certain amount of balls, with games running from 8.30am - 10.45am.
​
Majority of our U10 / Rookies players have come through our Cricket Blast Program, learning the basics of cricket before joining a competitive team that plays matches against other clubs on Saturday mornings.
​
These matches are full of plenty of fun with plenty of parents and family members in attendance. Training sessions are run after school in the William Street Reserve nets.
​
All new players and families are welcome to join our club.

CRICKET BLAST: Cluden will run the Cricket Blast Program at William Street Reserve in 2025-26. Sessions will run from 9.15am - 10.30am.
​
These sessions are full of fun and are targeted towards 5 - 9 Year Olds. These are run by Cricket Victoria Accredited Coaches & Senior Players of Cluden CC, who have come through the Blasters Program in the past.

What we offer
- State of the Art Facilities: Our purpose built clubrooms have 2x All-Access Changerooms, a large function room, scorers box, umpires room, canteen and separate bar facilities.

- All-new surface: William Street Reserve was resurfaced during the 2023-24 season ahead of a late October 2024 re-opening.

- Family Club: We ALL work towards a common goal of ensuring all players and families enjoy their experience at Cluden. Catering for players 5 Years Old to 60+, we involve everyone across the Junior and Senior Programs.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Where are games / trainings? Our Main Ground for U10/12 Rookies and Junior Cricket Blast is William Street Reserve, Brighton. Training sessions are held during the week post-school in the William Street Reserve nets, located next to the clubrooms.
​
- How much is registration? Junior Registration is $225, with Cricket Blast being $109.99. Click here to register now.
​
- What is included in my registration and where does the money go? All new players will receive a yellow playing top. Unlike other clubs who often use Junior funds to pay Senior Players, all of our junior funds go directly back into the program. This includes ground hire fees, junior coaching fees and general expenses such as balls.
​
- When does the season run? The Junior Season begins on October 11, with a break for Christmas, before resuming in the middle of January (Cricket Blast resumes in February). Junior Cricket Blast starts on Saturday October 18 at William Street Reserve.
